  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 3/4 cup full-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup grated gruyère cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated fontina cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook gnocchi in boiling water until they float; drain carefully.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  4. Stir in flour to create a roux, then gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add dijon mustard.
  5. Once thickened, remove from heat and mix in gruyère, fontina, salt, white pepper, and half of the parmesan.
  6. Fold cooked gnocchi into the cheese sauce until well coated.
  7. Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with remaining parmesan, and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
