  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 oz powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (cinnamon mixture)
  • 12 tablespoons whole milk, as needed for icing consistency
  • Pinch of salt (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine lukewarm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture, butter, egg, and vanilla; combine to form dough.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth (8-10 minutes). Let rise in a greased bowl until doubled (1-1.5 hours).
  4. Prepare cheesecake filling by beating cream cheese with sugar, vanilla extract, flour, and sour cream until smooth.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle; spread with butter and cheesecake filling. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
  6. Roll up tightly; cut into equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Allow rolls to rise again (30-45 minutes) before preheating oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar and milk.
