  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add diced onions and sauté until soft. Stir in minced garlic and cook briefly before adding marinara sauce, crumbled turkey bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the béchamel: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened (about 5 minutes). Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble the lasagna: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish; layer with cooked lasagna noodles, béchamel sauce, mozzarella cheese, and cheddar cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used; top with extra cheese.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
