  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried mustard
  • ½ cup chicken broth, room temperature
  • ½ cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine thawed hash browns, melted butter, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, diced onion, minced garlic, flour, chicken broth, milk, and spices. Mix well.
