  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi), finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease your baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil; mix until combined.
  4. Pour in hot coffee and stir until smooth.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes; check doneness with a toothpick.
  6. Cool the cake for 10–15 minutes before layering.
  7. Toast kataifi in butter until golden; mix with pistachio cream.
  8. Prepare ganache by melting chocolate with heavy cream.
  9. Layer the pistachio filling on the cooled cake and pour ganache on top.
  10. Optional: Garnish with additional pistachio cream or crushed nuts.
