  • 26 ounces frozen meatballs
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 ounce package brown gravy mix
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon white apple vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1½ cups gruyere cheese (grated)

Instructions

  1. Place sliced onions at the bottom of a 6-quart crock pot.
  2. Layer frozen meatballs on top of the onions.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, brown gravy mix, garlic, black pepper, thyme, and white apple vinegar until well combined.
  4. Pour the sauce over the meatballs ensuring they are evenly coated.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 2½ – 3½ hours or low for 5 – 6 hours.
  6. Combine corn starch and water in a small bowl until smooth; pour over meatballs and stir gently. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and let it melt for an additional 10 minutes before serving.
